Hi!

My name is Eric, and I’m a Colorado native, now living in the Seattle area. I’m an active and very energetic young professional, bent on getting the most out of life and enjoying the process along the way. As with most folks from Colorado, I was brought up with a love of the outdoors. You can’t beat Colorado for beautiful scenery and an active lifestyle, and I love getting out in the Rockies to do some hiking and camping, but Seattle sure comes close. I have evolved over the last decade to love triathlon and everything biking, as my outdoor sports of choice, and you can find me out on the Seattle roads just about every day doing some combination of biking or running.

I’ve spent the last 11 years in the Navy, serving on Submarines after graduating from the Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School and completing training. I’ve lived in almost all regions of the United States with the military, but spent a majority of my time stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, which was pretty much the best thing ever when it comes to being able to bike year-round in perfect weather. It’s always a good thing if you can go through several racing seasons and not even need to own a wetsuit!

In addition to living all over the country, I have been fortunate enough to travel to a wide variety of places during my time with the military, and recently expanded upon that with a self-made round-the-world trip to celebrate the end of my military service. This blog was originally inspired by one of my favorite triathlon oriented blog’s (dcrainmaker.com), and served as a way for friends and family back home to follow my adventures while abroad, but after finishing the trip it has since morphed into a fun way to document the day-to-day activities of my life. Hopefully, reading through my experiences can inspire a few people to get out there and learn a little bit more about the world we live in – and maybe adopt a healthy, active lifestyle along the way!
